Ankara Beach Bar was the place to be on Sunday afternoon, the crowds gathered from far and wide for a glimpse of popular Rock band Hysteria and let’s just say, the band know how to entertain, as they fired straight into Robbie Williams `Let Me Entertain You’. Turning this well known `Pop’ song in to something quite spectacular. The Beatles classic `Back In The USSR’ came next, with it’s sprinkle of good ole Rock N Roll, before the band cranked the dials back up for 80’s classic `White Wedding’ to the crowds delight. The band continued to maneuver their way expertly through `Gimme Shelter, Hold The Line, I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,Rosalie, In These Arms, Walking By Myself, Rocks Off to Hotel California and The Who’s `Won’t Be Fooled Again’. The energy was electrifying by the end of the first set and as a band, they have this unique ability to take a song and make it sound like their own. Their sound harbors depth with thick beefy guitars, heavy drumming to the sharp bass.
The band kick off the second set with ZZ Top’s ‘Give Me All Your Loving’ and a Queen Medley, followed by David Bowie’s `Heroes’, this was the second time that Hysteria had played the track and you wouldn’t have guessed! They sounded so professional and seasoned throughout. `Roll Over Beethoven’ came next and it didn’t take long for people to jump onto the dance floor and let the music take control. `Born To Be Wild, Rebel Yell, Get Back and Jailhouse Rock’ followed, before crowd pleaser `Sex on Fire’ brought more heat to the already sizzling party.
Hysteria continued to rock their way through `Relax’, `Human’ and an absolute crowd favourite `She Sells Sanctuary’ and this is by far THE best cover, I have personally heard of this classic track. The Quo’s `Whatever You Want’ was followed by the band’s final song `You Really Got Me’
The crowd went wild, chanting for more and more is what they got in the shape of GnR’s `Sweet Child of Mine’ and Led Zeppelin’s `Whole Lotta Love’ and by which point, everybody was up on their feet and dancing like nobody was watching.
Hysteria are one of the best bands in the area, by far…..
These guys are a MUST see and are the perfect weekend treat!
